I'm really not sure about this photo. Does it have any photographic merit as an abstract? Does it really feel ominous? Do you feel like the figures are facing you or away from you? How can I improve this shot?
Some feedback is greatly appreciated! D90, 70-200 F2.8 Sigma Lense Captured at: 185mm 1/200, F/14 ISO at lowest setting SB600 flash wirelessly fired handheld off to the right side

![]() I'm not sure why the subjects are blur though. While the lights were still on, I used AF to focus on the subjects, then switched to MF, turned off the light, and made the shot using a remote control while the camera rested on a tripod. |

I agree about the focus. You know what i thought of when I saw this pic? Animation shot of two characters (definitely potential heroes) who see a great light and are drawn in by it. They want to follow the adventure. So, no, not ominous, particularly because one of the subjects looks like pippi longstocking in silhouette.

Thanks for the replies. I love the background too. I had 2 pieces of large white paper, one for the background and one for the surface the figurines were standing on, then fired the flash at many different angles just to see the effect I get. Really had fun experimenting with this shot.
