i'm a beginner as well, but it seems everyone has an opinion.

I like that you chose to put the sign somewhere else other than dead center (which is where i would have put it ). It's unique.

One thing that could be fun is to choose a certain part (maybe the firefighter insignia or maybe the entire banner that says "station one" in it and change that to red so that it pops a bit. Not sure if that would enchance the pic or distract from the original idea, but it might be worth trying.
