Default An empty bench in the winter...

Hi, I really like to take pictures of empty benches (hmm, not that I've taken many so far), and I wanted to ask about lighting in this picture. Would it have been better with sunlight on the bench, or does it look better like this?(the bench is in the shade)

It's still winter...

EXIF:
Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture: f/4.0
Focal Length: 6 mm
ISO Speed: 80
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

Hi Liz! I love the composition of this picture...however, since there is a lot of light in the background, I would have an equal or greater amount on the subject (bench). If the background didn't have so much light in it...then I think the bench would look ok the way it is.

Hi LizKcer,

I agree with Ross. This is a nicely composed picture! Well done!

I think if the bench were in the sun it would draw more focus there and would be a stronger image, but I think it works like this.

For me the image is too blue. If you shot it in RAW then you could adjust the color temperature. If not, you might try knocking down the blues a little or maybe even adding a warming filter in Photoshop.

Good job.
