Default Reflection

8-Reflections


This is a reflection of a swan from this past summer. Does this picture work? I am thinking about entering it in a small photography contest. Thank you in advance for your comments/

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/8.0
Focal Length: 209 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: No Flash

Hi JFisher14,

Yes. I think that this image 'works.' I think it is quite lovely and you should be proud of it.

One thing I see... is that there is some noticeable sensor dust to the left of the swan. I would clone that out. Also, and I'm sure that this is just because of the low-res image, but it seems a little noisy. Of course, both of these are easily fixed in post.

As for my taste, I would like to see stronger colors. I think it would be more striking if it had deeper blues in the reflected sky and I brighter clouds, but that is just me.

Truly a nice image. Congratulations!

Great capture, but as KansaiGreenie said, colours could use some bringing out, nothing a few minutes in your favourite editing software couldn't fix. Then yeah, put it in the comp

The swan looks well placed in the frame. It's a shame it is so noisy.

I love the reflections and the silhouette. I too would like to see some slightly stronger colors.

At this size, the noise is barely noticeable -- it's no problemo.
