Firstly welcome to DPS. I hope you enjoy being with us and post many more shots for us all to enjoy. Secondly, I am no expert on portrait shots so you may get more help if any of the big boys comment, but I love the shot. The bokeh is great, the expression of the subject slightly enigmatic. Keep sharing your shots with us. God bless. PAUL

The eyes look a little overworked to me. Maybe too bright or over sharpened?

Ditto, but other than that, I like it
I really like the warm glowy light

Thanks. I'm still trying to figure out where the line between too much and not enough is for unsharpmask and using levels to brighten eyes.

Just keep playing around in your post-processing software. You'll get it.

Besides, I don't think the irises are overdone. I like the color in them. I think the corneas are way too white. That's just my take, though.

I agree with this. They seem way too white. Everything else seems ok to me though.

I like the angle and expression. Given that the image is already photoshopped, I would take one more step. Try duplicating the layer and select the face (excluding nose, eyes, lips. Put a bit of blur on the layer to soften the face. This is a quick way to clean up complexion.

It isn't a very flattering result. That may or may not matter, depending on your aim, but most people prefer to come out looking a bit less sallow. The image is fine, of course, if your message is "Christmas can leave you exhausted"!
