Default Is it worth saving?

Hi all!

I took this photo few months ago when I didn't think about photography or anything related to it. Now I'm looking for photos I took back then and trying to save some.
The tree on the photo was magnificent and I'm sorry I missed opportunity to make nice pict.
Colors on the original are strange, so only way I could do something with it is to convert it to bw, play with levels, contrast...and here it is..
It is kind of scary but appealing for me, not sure why...
So, please tell me: Is it worth saving? Can something else be done with it? What do you think in general?

Thanks!

It is not as crisp in the details as it would have been if the light was not so strong behind it.

Is it a location you could revisit in the future? Retaking the shot might be better than spending too long polishing this one and, even if you can't go back to that tree, you can try and improve on it by taking similar shots of other trees that are nearer you.

You could use it as a background on a website if you turned down the contrast on it, or made it a bit transparent. Pictures of tree's make for great background images on websites.

if you do revisit the spot, you could maybe make an HDR image with it's original and your retaken shots... That might be a good idea if as you said the colors are odd. May enhance the image.

Thank you for advices!
Revisiting is not an option, unfortunately. I took this photo on my visit to Japan (I missed so many photographing opportunities there) so I can't go back on the spot...and where I live there are no similar trees.
A background idea is great though...I'm going to use it for similar things (don't have website)
I've realized that I had forgotten to apply Unsharp mask filter...so I'll do that.
It seems to me that you didn't write anything that tells me this is a very bad image...or you just forgot to emphasize that
