Default Helicopters

I took these three shots with my Canon XSi. I was wondering what could be improved on and what your favorite shot is. Its pretty hard gettin' in snow, it was either over and under exposed, some help?

THANKS

Hi Sam. I can only image how difficult it was to get these shots and I think you did a great job considering the circumstances.

My favorite is the third shot. I like this shot the best because it has only one helicopter and shows the whole fuselage. I think I would like it even more, if it included all of the rotors. (BTW... Not that I'm bothered by this, but the rules of the forum say that you're only supposed to post one image. )

I think this image needs more space in front of the helicopter instead of behind it. That would give the feeling of the helicopter moving into the frame, instead of out of it. Right now, my eye follows the 'line' created by the windows, the cockpit and nose out of the frame on the left side.

I recommend that you crop out some of the space on the left side. I think that would help balance the image. I wouldn't worry about cutting off the long rotor on back because they are cut off in the front.

I know how tough this can be. I think that you can improve the exposure some in post. Try playing around with the exposure, contrast, brightness and saturation sliders and see what you can come up with. I think it is improvable.

Good effort at a unique subject in difficult conditions.
