Question Too many lines?

Hi Everybody,

I was walking back home from the video store yesterday and I came across this unusual orange aloe plant that I just had to make an image of. I'd never seen an aloe plant that wasn't all green.

My question is: does this composition have too many lines? Are the lines of the grate and the brick wall distracting from the lines of the aloe plant? Do all of these lines move your eye around too much?

I'd love to hear about these questions, or anything else. Thanks!

I would have rather seen a different angle here. As it is, the brick, the grate, and the aloe are all competing for my attention. If you're going to use this composition, I'd rather see more DOF to separate the plant from the background a little better.

Thanks EOBeav! I totally agree and I just wanted to see if anyone else thought the same way.
