Since it is a product shot, I would have the background pure bright white. It's hard to get a pure white background in camera unless you are shooting against white plexiglass or something, so in this case you could do it in post production. Also, I might have the box positioned a little more towards the top of the frame and have the necklace coming out to the bottom right corner. Mainy because right now the necklace is being cut off at the bottom and more of an angle would showcase it spread out. It's good to have to negative space throughout the frame (especially on the edges), it makes the product pop more. Just my two cents .

Thanks man, after I uploaded it I really started to think it'd look better if it was white instead of gray bg and about the necklace out of frame was my fault, i didn't realize it was out of frame when i took it.

I completely understand! Always after I post a photo I start scrutinizing it, then the little things really stand out!!! Oh, and I wanted to say you have some great photos on Flickr. Merry Christmas!

Hi Genevieve,

I agree with PowerPix about the background and the composition. The other thing that I would add is the front of the box is a little dark. If you put a reflector (just a piece of white foam core or posterboard) under the lens, it would have reflected some light on to the front of the box and reduced the shadow.

Nice image.
