Dear Santa

Camera: Nikon D3000
Lens: 50mm f.18D
Aperture: 1.8
Shutter Speed: 1/10
ISO: 100
Flash: No

This is a picture of one of the Christmas decorations by the tree in my grandparents' house. This is one of the first few pictures I took when I got my camera and the 50mm, tinkering with it and amusing myself with bokeh and such. I'm on the fence about this one. Any tips on how I can improve this shot? Please and thank you!

Aside from wanting to bring up the exposure a stop or two, I think it's great. The angle and composition tell a really good story. I suggest going into your raw converter and adding +1 or +1.5 to the exposure slider. If that brings out too much detail in the shadows, then bump your black point up or pull your grays a little bit into the black on the levels adjustment.
