Default My first photo

Hello,

I am new to this forum, i have never posted before but i really enjoy learning a lot from every post. I recently bought a Panasonic Lumix FZ35 and this is my first picture taken, as a test, with my camera. I'm still learning how to use it.
This picture was taken at sunset, on a cold evening . I would really apreciate your opinion on this image, and any suggestions you may have!

Like I said before in another thread... work on Your composition. Don`t hesitate to crop an image to make it more dramatic. On the left side is too much space left and down-left is a black weird thing... I`ve cropped those away.
The colors are good, but they could be better. But not without post process.

To my crop and comp. of Your picture... See, that the sun is now about 2/3 from left and bottom of the pic. Literally is the sun now in the golden section of the picture. The grass there is on the left side to add some story to the photo.... There is a sectino in the middle of the bottom ... It looks like a human character, who walks from the sun toward the grass... I like this part most :-)

Good Shot.
I like the way you cropped it also Hotsoup! I'm new to this as well and I do like your version alot, it really shows by just cropping it will show the shot in a whole new way!
I'm afraid to post any of my pics due to lack of knowledge of the whole process.
They are taken with a regular point and shoot camera. Up until this weekend anyway!!

I agree the composition needs to be corrected, but the cropped image looked very nice. I like the idea and it is a very nice back lit image. Keep reading these forums and you will learn alot.

To Tamster: Dont be afraid to post your pics, its a great way to learn. I am new to photography as well, but I learn a lot from posting and hearing peoples opinions. Just have post and have fun!

Hey great shot! I like the colors and how the sun was captured. But like what the others have said, you might want to crop it though. hotsoup's cropped version looks nice! Anyway, I also noticed that blur that looks like a human figure... what is that? I'm intrigued! Good work, keep them coming>

Wow, my comments are very similar. I liked the colors of the shot and the concept. I also thought it needed a crop but the one posted here was a tad aggressive for my tastes. I find the top of the fence post (or whatever that thing is) to be a little distracting just b/c it's so uniform. If that were shrubbery or not there I think it would improve the shot. Even I know how to do either of those things in photoshop! Nice work with this!

I like the picture a lot even though there needs to be some more editing works to be done.the image reflection which is coming from the sun is like there is a angel coming down to earth from the sun.

Wow it looks very very nice, i really have a lot to learn. Thank you Hotsoup, you really gave me another perspective of the picture. I didn't even noticed the blur that looks like a human figure, it was a simple smoke from a factory ).

Sometimes it`s good to put all the photos You`ve taken away for a while to clear Your mind and lower the euphoria. Then, when You come back, You see the difference and other little things, You`ve missed first time. After all this You have better self-recognition, which goes after self-criticism. Sometimes it`s better, to be harder to yourself, to become a better photographer...
