Default shoes?

This is the photo I used for DPS weekend challenge the name of the assignment was shoes wonderd if I could get some feed back on this pic as far as angle and color and overall idea of the photo thanks!!

The idea as a whole is great!! I think part of the problem you may be having is you have these really cool old boots and you have processed this to look and feel like an old photo. But the hats are shiny new white hats. Kinda just do not go together.
The other thing that bothers me is that you can see the edge of the table. Just doesnt work.
Can you maybe take them outside? Or maybe put a bottle of Jack Daniels between them. It'd sure give it a reason that the hats were sitting on top of the boots
