Question My Crux

I am trying to put together a set that displays how I feel right now in school; this is just the beginning...

Crux

I like this image, but I don't like this image; I'm not sure why. What do my fellow DPS friends have to say? Anything is fair game; composition, colour, DOF etc.

Also, feel free to edit this image for this thread

I like it. It sure conveys a "frustrated with school" feel to which most of us can certainly relate.

My suggestions would be (1) to crop some off the top - I think that having that much of the front cover detracts from the broken pencil and (2) this is maybe just me, but the way the narrow DOF runs on a diagonal, and the way the pencil pieces and the book are all at different diagonals, makes the comp a bit too busy for my tastes. My two cents.

Have fun with the rest of the set. You're off to a good start.
