Default Wine Cellar

I really like this shot that I took a couple weeks ago in the wine cellar of the Abbadia Ardenga winery in Torrenieri, Italy.

My specific questions are:

1. Does the top of the wire bisecting the picture detract from the image?

2. Should I tighten up the crop to remove the empty space in the lower left corner?

EXIF Info
Camera: Nikon D300
Lens: Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX
Flash Used: No
Focal Length: 17 mm
Exposure Time: 1/10 sec
Aperture: f/2.8
ISO Equivalent: 800
Exposure Bias: -2/3

Im not an extremely experinced photographer, but if you want my opinion, I like it cropped the way it is...I just kinda feel like it shows that the picture leads to a bigger subject..It leaves me wanting to visit there myself

.....I also feel like it makes the focused subject stand out more with something a little more distant to compare it with

Thanks for the feedback. I could have easily spent all day taking pictures in the cellars but the few hours in the tasting room were great, too!

Interesting shot. Wire's OK. I might tighten the crop a bit top and left. Mixed feelings cropping the bottom - there's the board that distracts, but it comes up above the lower level of bottles that should stay.

Bob: Thanks for the comments. The board is for the next label. The winery was able to start collecting and producing again in 1945. I'll look at cropping the top and left a bit.

FWIW, here is an image of the entire rack.

In regards to your first shot, the focus point is on the wire fence and should be either on the sign or the wine bottles since those are the primary storytelling subjects in this shot.

Armando: You made me go back and double check where the focus was. It was on the top row first bottle with the cork showing to the left of the sign. Point well taken - if I could do it again I would have tried another shot focusing on the sign. Thank you for pointing this out to me!
