Hi!
In case you're new to photography (I know already that you like to learn which is good), I would give you the following tips. Before taking a shot think about the following (this can be applied to any type of photography):
- what is the subject/theme of a picture you want to capture?
- pay attention to the foreground and the background
- before shooting, take a look at the composition - maybe move something around, applying extra lighting
- be creative
(I'm probably missing a bunch of other things here but that will get you started )

For the picture you posted - the main subject is the apple (obviously) but look at the rain drops of the armchair or whatever that is the apple is on. The raindrops would be an interesting addition/foreground to the picture. So maybe you could zoom-out or take a step back to capture more of them. I would also move a little to the right to have the armchair horizontally and position the apple in 1/3 of the frame (or just break the rule of 1/3 if you want ). I would also take a much lower f if the lens allows you and I would also lower ISO.
One more idea: how about making the apple wet to have raindrops on it? Then with low f, the picture could look really nice with a shallow depth-of-field (DoF).

Hope it helps! Have fun!
