Default Go Green!

Hi,

I am trying to decide which, of a number of photos I should enter into a competition, and also, how to improve the shots I've already taken. If you have any ideas please let me know. The subject is 'Go Green!'. I've had a look at some of the other entries (they're online), and there are a lot of photos of plants- so I wanted to try something different. I'm very new to photography, and also to elements of design, so any tips would be much appreciated.

Additionally- can you see any motion blur? I wasn't using a tripod and the shutter speed was 1/20....

Also- the big question: Do you like it?

Thanks in advance for your help

Well as far as the motion blur is concerned...........i don't see any, so i assume there isn't any.

About the photo being entered into the competition, hmm....if i were you i'd give it some thought before doing so.........this photo definitely lacks a some things, all interelated. This photo is over exposed a bit because of which the sharpness of the colors is not as it should be.
Secondly, i think that your main subject (the olive green pencil) is not proper because it gives a hint of brown, i'd reccommend you to make the pencil on the left side of the olive green pencil, the dark green one to be your main subject.

Hope this helps....
