Spherical Flower

It was getting a little dark when I spotted this flower which was perfectly spherical. I got my camera out and composed this such that the flower stem appeared from one corner. [This is the full shot with no crop in processing]. Since the light was low, I had to use in-built flash.

Please comment what better could have been done.

i think you could crop in to make it look like a cool abstract photo or maybe you could have tried a lower angle at look up at it. just some ideas i really like it what type of flower is it?

The flower was spherical all around so it would have looked the same from below except that the backgroun would have been different. I really don't know the name of the species, just found a perfect shape so captured it.
