Default autumn by newbie

hello there.i am a newbie so i need your guidance in improving my photography as well as photoshop skills.This is a shot i took few days back.I thought of making it look some kind of vintage and warm but it does not seem to be like what i wanted it to be.Will you help me plzz

sybren : owh thanx for your time.. i think the tone is not soft enough but i dont know what else can be done..ive been playing around with CS3 but i dont seem to get a very nice tone.

I'm a begginer as well but I think it's a very good shot .
The only thing that I don't like about it is that the background is overexposed in some areas ( or at least I think it is )

Anyway, i like the idea so much.
