Default An old bus is my first shot

Hello every one,
I'm a new photographer and a new member in this great community as well. I'd like to show you my shots so I can use your opinions to improve my skills (if I have any ).

My first shot is for an old rusty bus , I know that some of you won't like it but I think it represents the abandonment and how ungrateful we can be.

What do you think about the composition of this shot?
Did I choose the right angle?
I did some color processing on it, do you like the result?

Taken with a Canon 500D (18-55), f/11, 1/40 sec, ISO 100, and 18mm.

*P.S: I'm not sure to which category does this shot belong, so if I put it in the wrong section please move it to the right one and accept my apologize.

Thank you.

wonderful first post.....may there be many more......

i like the angle of the bus to the camera.....although i would like to see it a little higher in the frame.....where it is now, the sky dominates....

speaking of the sky......it's exposed beautifully and i like the rich blue gradient.....the bus, though......is underexposed.... emphasizing the sky even more....you could lighten it in editing.....or next shot, try using a fill flash to balance out the lighting....

thanks again for such a nice first post and welcome to the site.....

Thank you peeperita for encouraging me, so kind of you .

About your critique, I think you would like the shot before I cropped it . I cropped it from the bottom because I thought the dirt is Distorting the picture, may be I was wrong!

Also I made the bus underexposed on purpose , I think I loved the sky and forgot what I was shooting in the first place .

Thanks alot peeperita, I appreciate your comment.

I really like the bus a bit underexposed. I think there is a really nice contrast between it and the sky. The only suggestion I would have is to maybe (I'm not sure of the right terminology here) zoom out, so the bus is smaller and there is more open area around it, if you are going for a feeling of abandonment.

I'm just starting out so take my "critique" with a grain of salt. I still think it's a wonderful image.

You are absolutely right, I wish I could . there was some bushes right behind me when I took it so I couldn't step back any further. I used the widest angle of the lens but still not enough.

I'm really glad that you liked it
Thanks alot.
