I want your comments on the composition of the picture...

...and technicalities apart, is it a good photo to look at? Does the picture appeal your eye? I am pretty satisfied with the exposure and other aspects.

I think the composition could be improved. A gate like that seems to be crying out to show both sides of it and seeing what is through it. As it is, there is a lot of dead space in the foreground and on the right side that doesn't add anything to the photo. Frankly, a gate that you can just walk around isn't that interesting on its own, imo. I would suggest moving much closer and capturing the textures of the rock. This would also minimize the amount of washed out sky.

The whole composition is very unbalanced -- everything of interest feels like it's falling out of the photo on the left! Your subject (the gate) has been partly cut out of the photo, while there's lots of empty and uninteresting space on the other sides.

I think the gate should have been much more in the middle than on the left...
