Default To Crop or Not?

What makes this photo for me is the alliterative graffiti that seems part of a children's story. The question then is: Should this photo be cropped to eliminate other distracting elements and to draw in more to the writing and the girl? Is the rest of the photo, outside of the girl and the graffiti distracting?

Question 2: I added a bit of vignette, as dark as Photoshop Elements would let me. Does this work?

Thanks for the critiques!

I like the pic, it's really cool!

I'd crop it so the girl wasn't so centered. Not sure what I think of the vignette - maybe go a bit lighter on it. My eyes keep going to the vignette and not the girl.

I'd definitely crop it, I agree with Susan that the girl is quite centered. The girl on one side or the other makes for two very different photos. Perhaps even crop the shadow off the top to make the wall appear to stretch on infinitely.

Sybren, I really like the suggestion of cropping the top shadow, too....I didn't think of that at all, GREAT idea.

Default Great suggestions

You hit on what was bothering me about the photo: the dead-center subject. Here's the crop based on your suggestions. Now, the girl appears ready to exit to the right, giving her a dejected look which the graffiti passage informs enigmatically. This has been constructive beyond just this photo. Thank you.

I like the second one better but would have cropped it to the other side of the girl towards the window.
Nice work other wise!
