Default The Ryman

Ryman Auditorium

I visited the Ryman auditorium today with my family and was pleasantly surprised that they allowed photography, so I spent a few minutes walking around taking pictures. I'm looking for critique on the composition and post-processing treatment here mostly, although any and all criticism is appreciated.

EXIF:
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/1.6
Focal Length: 30 mm
ISO Speed: 640
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

Thanks in advance.

if you want comments on PP, you need to explain what was done PP, as we cant tell. Possible post a in-camera shot for comparison?

Anyways, composition is really nice in my opinion. Good use of DoF to make the steps, mic and sign stand out, but still hae a contextual backdrop. Lighting from the side is really nice, - causes some nice highlights on the steps and mic - was that an off camera falsh? or a enviromental light which was there anyway?

Has a 'vintage hollywood' type feel, like you could imagine Marilyn Monroe in the front row or someone like that.

Overall, a really nice effect. you should be pleased with yourself

Thanks Nathan. The lighting was as-is, no flash used.

The PP involved essentially using levels, then a series of local contrast-increasing steps, then I added a desaturation layer, finishing up with an unsharp mask over the letters on the microphone stand and a small vignette. All done in GIMP.
