Default Tension...

EXIF
Nikon D40
f/4.2
1/60 sec.
ISO-320
28 mm

[I]'ve been really stressed and on edge lately; there's a lot of tension in my life. This is my attempt at portraying that tension in a photograph. Problem is, I'm not sure if I did a very efficient job. It seems a little...half way. Like I was on the right track, I just didn't take it far enough. I, however, am extremely critical of my art. That's why I'm enlisting y'all. DOes it look 'half way?'

Please put it in park and not drive off the cliff =) Lighting wise it isnt too flattering but the photo does show tension.
Just keep shooting =)

Yea I think it shows tension but maybe it would look a little better in black and white. The inside of a car always looks so bland

I don't get a feeling of tension from this image...just looks like a hand on the shifter to me.

Maybe if you were gripping it in an unusual way so that we could see white knuckles, or if the button was pushed in, or there were some popped veins, sweat or motion blur from shaking (because you're gripping the shifter very hard) then I would get a feeling of stress and tension from this shot.

Its been my goal lately to do portraits that [I]aren't[I] flattering. And I tried it in black and white--just wasn't the same. Ah listen to me! I'm making excuses!
Thank yall so much for the advice!

I don't see any tension....

Just a cheesy photo that is better off deleted because you are making more stress on yourself wondering if it is portraying you being stuck in your stressful little world... *gasps for air*

You're making excuses again.....

It wasn't intended to insult. I'm sorry.
