I agree that the powerlines are distracting -- especially going straight through the flower. I think that you could have recomposed by just moving a bit to the right, to avoid that problem though. Then the trees would have provided a more effective frame -- closer to the flower, emphasizing it more than the clouds (as the trees are kind of doing now).
Also, is there a reason that you were shooting at f/32 and 1/40 second? f/32 is an EXTREMELY small aperture, and you don't have any real need for serious depth of field here -- plus 1/40 is a very slow speed for full daylight.

I agree with Clark,.. the powerlines are def distracting,.. it leads ur eye into where they disappear into the trees away from your subject. Maybe you could try it by doing like he said, go to the right a lil more, and use the trees to ur advantage. Either put them in focus too,.. or get closer to the flower and use a larger aperture for a smaller DOF, throwing the trees out of focus? ( did i say that right? lol) Im still new at this,.. so,... its just my thoughts.

Thank you guys. I don't think I can photograph that particular flower again, since it's been rainy lately and I had to lay on the ground to get the shot, but it's good to know for the next time I try a similar shot. I was trying to get the shot without adjusting the flower itself, but I think it was pretty much impossible. I tried from several angles, and the powerlines were always in the image. Next time I'll just move the flower to compose my shot. Or maybe I need to get some better software so I can get rid of any unwanted items.
Anyway, thanks for the critique! Nick
