I took this at our Bed and Breakfast at Martha's Vineyard. I like that it looks abstract but don't know which works more, the one with darker, richer colors (linked below) or the one attached which I think looks more drawn/painted.
Secondly is this image strong enough to evoke interest? I love the still life idea, but have trouble making it interesting. ![]() Link to other pic http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2583/...7ac3a0deb9.jpg ISO 800 Ex 1/200 f 4.0 FL 82 mm Nikon D90 Thanks, Wendy Last edited by Redsky; 07-15-2009 at 03:21 PM. |

Hi, Wendy.
Personally, I like the darker one. It has more of a mood to it. The lighter one is nice too, and like you said, it has that painted look to it, but I just prefer the darker one myself. And I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what you mean by "interest."

I like the darker one better for the lamp, glasses and the decanter. But, I like the lighter picture for the space about the lamp. I wonder what it would like with the two pictures "mixed" together?

Hmm. I am not big into still life, but in my opinion this is strong enough. I really like it. As far as the versions, that's tough. I kind of lean toward the lighter one.
