Default why do I like this

I dont know why I took this shot, but when I looked at it on my cpu, it seemed to grab me. I dont have any schooling in art, and I know very little about composition. I know this pic doesn't follow the rule of thirds, but it seems to work. maybe something to do with balance? so anyways, like it or hate it, input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I like the green of the leaves, and composition, the orizon line is a little disturbing, the only thing i loathe is the sign. the res is good.

i'm just a beginner so i don't know much either. i think the rule of thirds work better for this picture but besides that, the black and blue colors in the background doesn't seem to match the green leaves so well to me. depth of field is good though which i like (i'm a sucker for bokeh).
