Default Comp and Colors of Abstract Shot?

I've been wanting to post this in critique for some time, but have struggled with what specific questions to ask. I've finally settled on:

1) colors - they are fairly muted. Are they too muted?

2) composition - the photo is generally darker in the lower left, generally lighter in the upper right, and has some lines that could lead your eye through the photo. If there can be a composition to this type of shot, does it work here?

I know that abstracts aren't most folks' favorites and that they are at times hard to critique. But if you have any thoughts about this shot - including any thoughts in response to the vague "does it work for you" question - I'd be happy to hear them.

No need to be gentle. I'm here to learn.

Slight Disorder

Camera: Nikon D90
Exposure: 2
Aperture: f/9.0
Focal Length: 40 mm
ISO Speed: 200

Thanks for looking.

Pleasing to look at, like a painting or an abstract pattern on a textured wall. Personally I like those colours.
