Post BW - War band on the street

Con la banda

I shot this one on digital RAW, then converted to black and white with Silver Efex Pro, it was shot at 9.45am CST, as you can see, it has a mix of high light on the left and deep shadow on the right, this is hand held shot, with a Nikon D40x, and a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens.

Aperture: f/8
Shutter Speed: 1/400
ISO: 200
Exposure Bias: -2/3
No flash.
No filter on the lens.

Original version 1600px X 1071px

Large Version 1024px X 685px

I'd like to read your impressions on this shot, does the bw conversion suit well?, do you consider I did a good job on the conversion?, does it have a good compostion?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Default Band

I think the conversion to b&w suits the image fine, and I think--in general-- it is quite a nice image.

If I had a critique it would be the cropping; it appears to split one band member in half at right edge of the image.

You are right, it does, the thing is that this one is not croped, but may be you are suggesting I should.

Thanks Alan.
