f/3.5 1/13sec ISO-1250 18mm here's a shot during my friend's chaotic party. my lens could only go up to f/3.5 thus i had to go for a higher ISO, which sucked. but gave a pretty satisfactory effect. how's the composition though? any other comments would be appreciated. (: |

I think it's pretty cool
must have been hard to get the focus right. As much as I think it's a good shot I think the composition could have been better. The door and table doesn't really add anything to the scene. |

For the next time you find yourself in this situation, you'll hopefully also have a tripod and remote on you
![]() I like this this concept a lot - having on person stationary in the frame (as your subject) and having all sorts of crazy movement around him/her. Stopping down won't be necessary as long as you can get your subject to sit still (even for only a second) and lengthen your shutter speed (and have your camera on the aforementioned tripod/a steady surface). This should also allow for a lower ISO, thus eliminating some of the noise resulting from the higher ISOs. I like the composition. I know what the subject of the photo is, everything else is real. But if you did want to do a crop, I would suggest having your subject in the middle of the frame on the right-hand third. That way, you still get the people at the party, but eliminate the door and the table at the bottom. I'd give it a shot at least, see if you like it? Good job! Nice idea.

Then click the icon that looks like a world and chain-link. Then it will prompt you to enter the URL (web address of your flickr photostream or profile). Copy and paste whichever you prefer from flickr. When you click "ok" or "enter" some html code will show up. Part of it will be highlighted. You can change this part to say "Mike's Flickr" or whatever you want, so it doesn't give the web address, but still links to your site. Then you click "Save signature" and you're all set!

This morning, I really quite like your photo. I love the feeling of it, I like that the rest of the image is big and in your face, that your gf is the subject and calls the eye's attention, but that she's sort of in the distance. I'd leave the compo as is - I think if you cropped the door out (Which for some reason adds mystery in my head) there would just be a photo of a girl sitting on the floor. Anyways - Like it.

If you get another chance at a shot like this (not really sure if this was planned or not), I would get lower to the ground maybe about the height of the table to take the shot. If you did it right you might even be able to use the table as a stand for the camera. Getting lower might give more options to framing placement of the girl in the frame as well.
