Talking hollow fire Ball

this is the first time i ever got this photo opportunity.

i used a canon 450D
iso 400
aperture 5.0
shutter speed 1/5sec
focal length 45mm

let me know what you think of this shot and if there is anything i can do to improve my shot for the next photo opportunity i get.

your help will be much appreciated

Default background lights

Tough shot to capture. I like the sense of motion you've got here.

I think it'd be a pretty easy fix to either crop or paint/clone out some of those background lights. They are a little distracting. Overall, the crop could be closer, it's a dramatic event and--in my opinion (for the half-penny that's worth)--should really dominate the image.
