Ok I am new to this site as well as to using a SLR. I have been doing a lot of reading about what and how changing the aperture will help you take a better picture and change your depth of field. I took several pictures changing the aperture (using Av mode) and this one came out best, but I know I am missing something. Below this image I am going to put a link to the edited picture so you can see what I was trying to accomplish with my camera. Reason I mainly talk about aperture in this post is that is my topic I am studying the most right now. One thing at a time

Here is the link to the full size image http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2468/...db7b9939_b.jpg Now here is the edited picture ![]() Here is the link to the full size edit http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3297/...444378a1_o.jpg Thanks for your time and input. I know with a matter of time I can achieve the edit photo or VERY close to it just with the camera. |

In order to achive your edited picture only with the camera you need a longer shutter speed. I'm not sure, but I think you can't do this with the av mode (I don't use it, so perhaps someone else can confirm this). In the av mode the camera sets the shutter speed and iso automatically (how the camera thinks it's the best). You have to switch to manuel (if you want exact this aperture) or tv mode.
