Default Guitar player during a concert

Thought I would ask about this photo and see if there was anything I could do to get a better shot next time. All I had was my 18-135mm lens and no flash or tripod, so keep that in mind.

Camera: Nikon D80
Exposure: 0.05 sec (1/20)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 125 mm
Exposure Bias: 0/6 EV
ISO Speed: 2500

Hi dhart:
I like the frame you achieved. It makes me almost hear the song he is playing hehehe. Colors are great! As for taking this image with ISO 2500 and that lower shutter speed , you got a decent noise and pretty good detailed image. It seems your hands are note affected by natural shake lol!!
The other thing I would try to improve IMHO is the microphone bars (Not sure if only the one that crosses at the top right, or also the one that is just at the end of the guitar). As for the rest, I think you did a pretty nice job, given the circumstances you mentioned!
Thanks for sharing it!

those contrasting colors are great together.....i love the strange saturations that come with ambient lights and high isos.....

the compostition is a little hard for me...although, i like how the foreground subject frames the last guy.... ..not, that you can reshoot this, bit i see where there are three musicians in the frame, but only two are discernable.....the third middle guy is reduced to part of a hand and the neck of his instrument.....a step or two to the right and you might have had all three in there telling their story........

good shoot...

I think I was using part of the stage as an impromptu tripod, hence the sharpness. It just didn't give me much flexibility in framing!

Thanks,
D'Ann
