Default What would you do?

I like this photo I took at a wedding reception. I added a light vignette in Adobe Camera Raw and that is all. My question to all is what, if anything, would you do to this photo.

candle glow

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0/3 EV
Flash: Flash did not fire

I'm not certain if this is the right place for this.

yes, you came to the right place with this.....

i saw this on your flickr account and loved it right away.....i'm not so hot at candle flames myself.....

i would go back in with another layer with a dark vignette.....there's a little bit of something on the upper left edge that could use concealing.....

Thank you peeper. I was literally sitting at the table and placed the camera down and took a shot. I must say that since being on DPS, I got this in one shot as opposed to many, in manual mode no less.

I will work on a adding a dark vignette to it.

Late to the party as always, but I like what you eventually ended up with. Very nice shot even before though. I cannot shoot candles for the life of me.

I like the photo and agree about the little object in the upper left had corner. I'm interested to know about adding the vignette with Adobe. I am using Adobe Elements 6. Is there a tutorial somewhere that explains this technique?

Thank you. I did re-process the picture with a darker vignette and posted the results in a Share Your Shots thread. I have some pre-sets for Adobe Camera Raw that I use and that's where the vignetting came from. I use CS3 so I'm not going to do steps as the same things might not be available between elements and CS3; however, here's a tutorial just for elements that should get you started.

lputman,

One other aspect you might toy with is Selecting and placing candles on a separate layer to lighten and contrast just enough to stand out slightly against all that dark b/g and vignette. It will take a light touch, and may only matter if you wanted to view it larger. The 600 pixel view is not enough to really see the difference.

OK, I see what you're saying jiminy. I'll give it a go. Thank you.
