But the novelty should wear off in a few months, I guess when I value my skills a little more?
That's fine - One story I always remember is about a shot my Chemistry teacher took - it was of a bride that had been stood up at the altar. She was sitting on some steps in a disheveled wedding dress holding a bottle of alcohol. He took the shot, and then took time to talk to her and try to cheer her up a bit. Eventually he asked about the shot, and she said yes. Which brings me to something I read about an embedded photojournalist - He said "You're a human first, a photographer second", after talking about how he would sometimes help the soldiers he was traveling with, within Geneva convention regulations.

If they still don't want you to take the shot (that you've already taken), just remember that you don't have to destroy the image if they ask you to. You just won't get a release. That doesn't mean you can't keep it for personal use, just that you can't sell it for commercial purposes.

You may want to read a few books about selling. I know it sounds strange, but I got a lot of help from being a camera gear salesperson. Learning how to sell people has helped me a lot in life. Most people think they'll never be sold, but I can tell you from experience, at least 80% of people can be. You NEVER stop at the first 'no'.

i sometimes wish i lived in town where my subjects could be people once in a while instead of nature and wildlife (when my family won't cooperate LOL)

i like your store shot....seems quite real to me and the lighting is effective, except i didn't notice the guy at the counter at first look till it was pointed out so perhaps you could just lighten him up a bit.

Corry' I tell ya' there are so many outdoor cafes, parks, music events, bus stops...let me show you a lady I didn't want to refuse me, so I shot her from the rear first, then spoke, she was flattered...

I'll probably use this in a game or something
