Default Light from behind...

Lately, I've been taking a lot of pictures that include their lightsource, whatever it may be, in the photograph. It's been a lot of fun just messing with different lenses to see what I can do with the light. I love lens flares and starbursts... anything one would call an optical aberration. Anyways, I took this with a Minolta XD-11. The rays coming down on the branch looked magnificent in person, and I really just want to become better at capturing light. Is the picture underexposed or does it work for this picture? How else could I have improved this picture (lens adjustment tricks, shutter speeds, etc...)? Also, how is the composition?

I personally love this picture... a lot of it probably has to do with where I was and who I was with... my state of mind... but for some reason it just looks, feels, and tastes??? like honey, lol. probably doesn't make any sense, but hey that's what I experience when I see this.

i think you could have gotten the light, directly behind the tree trunk, and let it peak around, it wouldn't be as washed out looking, but lit up too. i do like how the light hits the limbs in the front. nice touch.
