I was looking for a way to make this seem more powerful in the perspective of shadows and midtones. I could also use some help with making the subjects (The three Buddhist monks) seems more life-like, more removed from their surroundings. I guess - depth of field?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and critiques!

There´s not much to say I think it´s a very well framed shot, with the adequate expsition (although you could play a little with the contrast). And I find it funny to see Buddist monks smiling in such hard times for them (they are buddhist´s right?) but it´s a image with hope. Congrats!

Please take a moment to read through the critique rules (linked in my sig). Critique threads need EXIF and specific questions.

I very much like it. It may strike some people as simple or uninteresting, but only if they don't find human expression interesting. It is a very honest moment between, what appear to be friends, and that's more than enough to make a photograph. Trying to do anything more, using extreme focal lengths, shooting from odd angles, even adding color would just distract from the subject.

Thanks for this.
