I saw a shot similar to this a while back and I wanted to try my hand at capturing the incoming tide under the pier. I would to know what you like/dislike and what could have been better in this attempt. Thanks!

Seems to be a bit underexposed, and I think you should go more extreme with the shutter speed. Either totally freeze some wave action with a super high shutter speed, or go for a long exposure and get a nice smoothed out look. Just my two cents.

kyripticide certainly has a technical point and I would dispute that issue with him/her. I see your pilings with slight diagonal setting a nice tension against the more 90-degree pilings. I like that tension. I also appreciate your textural contrast between the soft Pacific water and the bold pilings. I think your composition is thoughtful and I would have been pleased to capture this myself. I grew up in these waters. ; however, that does not bias me in my critique.geo
