    Default Misplaced tennis ball

First attempt of outdoors shooting. Truly didn't mean to place the ball this way. I threw it at the shop, and it bounced onto the net in this way.

I love the ball itself. It has so much character, both in the way it landed and in the texture and grittiness. The contrast with the clean netting and shiny framework works really well.

The main problem with this picture is the extraneous stuff in the background, particularly the conduit, but also that rail/shelf on the left. I don't think the window is that bad. That's the problem with real life. The ball was nice enough to land in a great place for the shot on the goal, but not where the background was great. But, I don't see that you could have picked a better angle than this.

I think the picture could be helped by a crop, maybe cutting off some of the top that does not add to the picture and maybe a bit of the bottom. Consider going to landscape instead of portrait. I think the picture would also benefit from the rule of thirds, if you crop it so the ball is top-left a bit and the eye is drawn to it by the front rail.

If you are a Photoshop person, consider removing the conduit. It would really help the picture. The shelf is less of an issue IMHO. Maybe also remove the window if it clips into the top of the picture after the crop.

Thank you so much for the advice! I am quite new to shooting photos, however I am also not a PhotoShop customer.
I will definitely take your advice and crop, and place it into a different category.
    Thanks!

When I said "landscape", I didn't mean the landscape category in the critique section. What I meant is a landscape orientation of the picture (wide instead of tall) rather than the current portrait orientation.

I personally think there's two main types of shots, snapshots and images that tell a story. This to me is the earlier, like you said it's just a little accident that by chance happened and you photographed it. The background is very busy. I'm not sure I like the composition, having said that I don't know how I would even compose that shot. I'm not really a big fan of the colour palette either, which also is partially related to the background. I just feel it's not speaking to me, there's story that I can hear and no feelings I can feel from it. Which in my opinion is a huge part of photography.

I'm sure you're new to photography so please don't take my feedback to hardly, if you agree with any of my points then just keep them in mind for the future.
