hi folks,
I am vary new to photography as in the only camera I own is on my phone nubie. So i am saving up for a nice dslr in the mean time I am using what I have, fortunately the camera on my phone is ok 8mp iso 100-800 (htc Ruby/Amaze) i took this picture from about 5 ft away and i used flash (it was cloudy and ambient light wasn't all that great) with no zoom. https://plus.google.com/photos/11156...CPG-9MfprL_rHg the figurine I think came out pretty good but the wall surrounding it looks like it was splashed with pink muck, my first thought is that I was to close to the subject using flash but that is just a guess. does anyone have any idea for why I got this result. also for post processing i am using the photo software editor gimp program, any ideas on how i can correct the photo would be muchly appreciated. i don't know if the Google photo album will allow you to download the photo if there is a better method for posting photos please let me know. I used the link in the post to see how Google presented the photo. if you click on the photo it brings it up on a black screen , in the lower left is an options selection if you click it there is a selection to download the full size picture. Looks like a white balance issue. In post you should be able to color correct fairly easily. (Exact methods will depend on the tool you are using.)

If you're gonna shoot something where the squareness is important then shoot it square! No convergence of lines horizontal or vertical. You can correct it in software though it's not as good as getting it right in the first place?

do you mean to say i should have taken it more square on to the figurine ? at the time I did not think about that, but looking at the image i can see i am a bit to the right of it. |
