Default Studebaker Hot Rod

This is my first post and I'm looking for some critique on my composition and lighting mainly. It was dusk with few lights in the area, and taken in aperture priority mode.

Taken on December 30, 2011 at 4.51pm CST (edit)
Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i
Exposure 0.125 sec (1/8)
Aperture f/5.7
Focal Length 100 mm
ISO Speed 3200
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash Off, Did not fire

Also, here is the link to my photostream. Feel free to give me some input on any of the pics on there.

Thank you in advance!!!

Okay, so plenty of people have looked and no one has given me any input. Is there a reason why? Is the photo that bad?

Not that people don't want to give you feedback.

The composition is cramped without being a closeup. Being uneven and out of balance will tend to bother some people. Pick a focus and then make it the dominant scene element.

The lighting looks to be an afterthought. As in you didn't consider the highlights and where they will fall on the body. The subject is worthy but I think you would benefit from taking some time to just look at your subject and the emotion you want to evoke from the viewer.

Keep making images and then when you look at them do so from a different point of view.

I'm don't consider myself a good enough photographer to comment on critique threads. I do look at the thread to learn more about composition, lighting, framing...well just about everything! There are a LOT of extremely talented people on these forums, but there are also a lot like me who don't feel qualified to comment.

So, no I don't think the shot is bad.

For me both the grill and fender/headlight are competing to be the subject of the image. One or the other needs to be the subject. There are blown highlights on the headlight. It is all just a bit too cramped.

Not a bad photo, but it can be improved upon. Take some time to look at what you are to shoot from various angles and perspectives while taking the light into consideration. Take the input and learn from it. Go out and act upon the lesson.

Keep at it.

I haven't seen this post before, so my reply has no impact on the lack of response....

IMO, it's a bad paint job.... A ton of micro flames on a studebaker???? It looks like the fake wood vinyl graphics to me...I love old hot rods, that car cold be so cool, but it's notl...I'm biased and opinionated.....

Technically, there's nothing *that* wrong with the pic....I just don't like the car.

Pretty much agree with all the above comments and will also add a Studebaker?? Unless it's been modified to look like a forty Ford, kind of looks like a Ford to me. But, with customs and hot rods, anything and any look is possible.
Here's the nose of a 1940 Studebaker

...and here's the nose of a 1940 Ford, you decide

Look, Yes it isn't an award winning image yet. But NO ONE, gets it first jump. Read what I wrote and make yourself learn the critiquing process. It will make you a better photographer.

This is a image I made of a Studebaker custom at the Turkey Rod Run. As you can see it isn't very good. I was stuck with out my regular camera and it was HIGH NOON. But I made the image anyway because by doing so I could learn from it.
