Default clown pics

I have been trying to take the advice from the folks critiquing my shots. The only thing that photo shopped in this picture was put them all together as a collage. The photo's themselves are not modified in anyway.

These are three of the same shot with same settings, all i changed was the lighting in each shot.

I am trying to make creepy clown photo's - But over all I am just trying to get some practice on using the manual settings on my camera and playing with different lighting.

Thanks

I think you did a good job achieving your lighting experiment. I am not sure if this is supposed to be a creepy clown picture as you call it but to me, it looks like a game to find the clown. The fabric used in the background is way too busy and colorful for me to view it as creepy but I would love to see more!

Thanks! I'll snap off another 3 shots of a clown with a back drop to see if I can make it creepy.

What are you using for a light source? Also, what lens, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO? The right side of the clowns face is too dark except for in the third shot but then it's starting to get too bright, especially to be a creepy photo... Here is what I have in my mind as a creepy clown statue photo... something darker- both backgrounds you have used have been to happy, colorful, and sparkly to be creepy for me. I'm thinking a more low key photo. Maybe even one where you are in a dark room with the door cracked, there's light coming from behind the door, and the clown is peeking into the room...? Just an idea Maybe you can cast his shadow on a wall too or something. I just think the bright colors are taking away from what you want to achieve but I also commend the fact that you are working on one technique at a time! It's best to start simple while perfecting lighting, focus, dof, etc before you overwhelm yourself! I think the clowns face could be more in focus as well but keep shooting and posting!
