Snare drum

I'm trying to take some photographs of musical instruments around my house at the moment. Please criticize this photo and offer any suggestions as to how i could improve it. Used desk lamp for lighting plus heavily diffused speedlite.

I'd really like to get the photos to standard where i could used them on a 'music tutors' website or something like that.

I really love the idea. Maybe try having more of the photo in focus. My eye goes right to the drum sticks and they are not in focus. Maybe try a different f stop. Keep going with this photo though because it's good!

Cool shot I like the B&W. What if you took out the sticks on the left and focused just on the drum and drum stick?
