Default My Martin guitar

I'm a chick that plays guitar so I wanted to take some shots of my favorite one... I have been doing mostly portrait photography with my new strobes so last night I decided to try something new. I am wondering if the lighting is good and how you like the composition. Any other comments are welcome!

The photo is so evenly lit that it looks flat and the angle you shot it isn't very interesting. Try using one light and move the guitar away from the wall. Shoot from the floor (rug level) and give the guitar just a "kiss" of light. Move the light directly overhead for a shot. Try something like laying it on the floor and shoot down the neck at your widest aperture. In each shot keep the one light idea and see if you can make the shot look more dramatic.
Hope this helps.

I agree with above. The composition is not very interesting. Plus the splitting of the carpet and wall. The wall is a very interesting color, I think it would compliment the guitar. Also a differing perspective.

ok, I appreciate the comments! I wondered about the wall to rug but wasn't sure how to fix it- put the guitar up on something so all you see in the background is the wall? I attached 2 others I did but feel the black and white one makes the guitar look weird and I am not sure about the one in colour... thoughts?

I would change the background color to help the beautiful wood grains stand out.

Cameraholic: What color would you suggest? I am also not comfortable with PS4 yet but will work on trying to remove the person from the image and put on a different background... I really just want to get seamless backdrops- I am more into taking the photos than I am editing haha
