hello, I'd like for my picture of my danbo toy (part of my collection).
I want it to convey a sad tone to the picture. ![]() danbo in the sunset by jadestoner, on Flickr Exposure 0.05 sec (1/20) Aperture f/1.8 ISO 800 1. is the composition ok? 2. how about the exposure? 3. does it catch you attention when you see it in a portfolio or gallery? Thank you! ^_^ |

I like the toy! Anyway, I find the top third distracting. For me, without it the story of sad and the toy him(!?)self is clearly the subject of the photograph. I think the exposure works - like the white white (blown out? - can't tell but fine if they are) eyes.

You certainly captured the feeling you were going for -- (I want that toy too!) ... the angle of the sky and some circles (lens flare?) I see are distracting -- I think you need the sky to explain the shadow but it needs some clean up (is that a piece of the moon at the top? The whole moon would have been an interesting effect like the shadow was coming from it) ... also the little dark triangle on the bottom right could be cloned out ... just some ideas ... nice mood ...

Thanks for the comments guys!
It's nice to know the mood i was going for can be seen in the shot. Hmmm the lights on the top third were from the lights reflected off the cars that pass by that area. The partial "moon" was actually something I was wondering about. Hehehehe. Thanks guys~! I would put these comments into thought when I shoot a similar shot/s especially when I'm going to shoot people. The comments are most appreciated.
