![]() Droptoberfest '11 - 02 by Chris Adval, on Flickr EXIF Camera Body: Canon EOS REBEL T2i Exposure/Shutter: 0.04 sec (1/25) Aperture: f/11.0 Focal Length: 18 mm ISO Speed : 400 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Exposure Program: Manual I know the shot is a tight crop, but I couldn't add more space without bringing in the surrounding vehicles around this vehicle, it was the best I could do with the lens I had. Looking for anything to improve, maybe post processing? What I did in pp wasn't much, but I didn't want to bring up the contrast and lose the blacks and details in the vehicle. How would you improve this shot overall?

What a great purple paint job! I would start by cloning out the cars in the background- they take away from the image. The close crop doesn't really bother me- in fact I kind of like it with the wide angle. I would boost the saturation of the purple, and increase contrast a bit. But the other cars are the part that I would start with to make a big difference in this image.

I agree with rachb that removing the other cars would improve the shot a lot. However, that's going to be difficult to do if you cropped in that close in your camera rather then cropping it afterwards. That's something to keep in mind -- it's easier to remove an object if you have enough background material around it to replace it with. An approach I often take to cropping is to frame the shot in your camera then take a step backwards -- you can always crop to the desired framing after you take the shot, but you may not be able to add missing material if you cropped it too close in your camera.
