I took this picture in Berlin. I really love the design of this lamp post but I'm not sure if it contrasts well with the building in the background or not. If you could let me know if this picture "works" for you or if its too busy, etc that would be great. Any other critique is welcome.

I think you need more separation between the lamppost and the building in the background. You could accomplish this by increasing the light on the lamppost or by using a larger aperture to blur the background. (The latter would sacrifice the background detail, obviously.)
I'd also recommend adding a bit of space to the right of the lamppost, as I think it's too close to the edge of the frame right now.
