Back to some boring stuff..... Oh well, weddings Tomorrow and Saturday, so get some models that talk back.

What do you think of lighting & composition for this hardware layout. This is drawer hardware for kitchen cabinets etc.

The chrome/stainless parts are good, but the powder/painted white parts are a bit bright and lack some detail. The left one seems to fade right into the background which would frustrate me a bit if I was looking to buy a drawer slide like this and couldn't see all the details.

Since I'm not a lighting guy, I wouldn't begin to suggest how you'd remedy the situation. Sorry.

Yeah.... shooting white on white is a bit of a pain when it needs to be that close. Hard to blow the background white & not affect the product. I guess I will have to drop the exposure on the product & up the exposure on the bg in post a bit more.

I think your background is a bit hot and you're getting bleed around the edges that is taking away detail from the subject.

I'd start with lower BG lighting and then push to white in post with white clipping (if possible) or the hard way with masking (if absolutely necessary).

I take it your customer really wants the white BG? If not, IME with similar subjects, this would be easier to shoot on gray or even black.

maybe you can get enough distance between the rails and the BG so you can add a flag or two on each side, just out of frame. see if you can intercept some of the BG light.

As previous suggested, I'd try inching down the BG light power first.

I would have shot it on black, but the whole website is white and they require the products on white Some good ideas... Thanks,

Dropped lighting down and tried some flags..... really needed to do it more in post than set up. Finally just went with a single softbox over the product and bumped the background in post.

The grey products were much easier....

Here is the simple set up I finally settled on.
