Default Close Enough-critique

First I'm just saying, this is my asking for critique..for tomorrow. since I won't be on.

NOW...

This photo, like the one "Droplets of life", is from my little escapade through the forest today.
I tried to go for the concept of 2 birds with one stone.

I wanted to try taking a hit at the foreground vs. background comparison.
was wondering what You guys thought of the detail of the stem in the foreground?
do you think the two spikes at the bottom help carry the eye around the image?
And do you think the background would have been better More in focus, or more blurred?

anddd,do you think the image would look better potentially in B&W or as is?

*** Also, just like last image, be aware I will not do PP work on it, however I would Love your opinion on what you think would have been better from when I did take the photo.

OH, and once again, this is a low res. version of the image.

I don’t know. My eyes first went to the top left because that is where the best color was, I then went to the middle and kind of stopped. I didn’t even notice the bottom two thorns. Maybe it is because of the background is out of focus and your foreground, while portions of it are in focus, is a fuzzy green stem. You also said it was extremely low res, so I am not sure.

Again, I like the idea of your point of focus being something not of the ordinary but I am confused with this one. Something if funny though. I sat here, looking at your photo, trying to understand what went on and after looking at it for a little while. I kind of couldn’t look away. I don’t know if it is because it kind of feels abstract or if I was just that deep in thought.

I am sorry if this answer is not as definitive as you wanted.
