Default Hot Pink on Green !

Saw these on the grass last evening while my daugther was playing in the backyard and grabbed my camera to click this. What do you think of the picture? Is the composition working? How is the focus (Intentionally used f1.8), is it working in this composition or should I have used a little higher f stop to bring both into focus?

EXIF:
Nikon D300
50mm lens
f1.8
ISO 200
1/500
No Flash

Give me your general comments on this picture.

OK. I'd like to see both of them in focus.

I agree witht the comment above, I'd like to see them both in focus from this angle...but I'm thinking if you got lower to the ground and shot at this F stop it would work nicely...

I like your idea here but a couple of things come to mind.
Firstly, as has been mentioned, having them both in focus would be nice.
Also, this is a classic example of when the rule of thirds would apply. Given that they are facing towards the upper right hand corner I would try to place them in the lower left.
Thirdly, I think having these shoes smaller in the frame and showing more of the grass would help with the scale. It is somewhat obvious by the colour and style that these are small shoes but the picture doesn't show that. With nothing else to give a sense of scale having them fill less of the frame would help with this.
Don't make them too small though or they will get lost, its a matter of balance.

Thanks all for the comments. I did shoot with more grass in the view and keeping the sandals in the lower left hand corner but thought may be a bit tighter crop would do it. I will try to re frame the picture. However, I will try to shoot these again with both in focus and see how they come.
