So, this is one of my newest images, however, I shot the photo at 2 am,and was actually using my own hand as a model.
What I want to know is; is this style, and others worth pursuing for myself? I usually stick to nature photography at the moment, so your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. - just keep in mind; -it was 2 am -my hand was my model -lighting was NOT the best Camera: Canon EOS Rebel XSi Lens: 55mm ISo: 1600 Focal Length: 53.0 mm Exposure Compensation: +1/3 Apature: f/ 5.6 Shutter Speed: 1/50 |

Thank you, and to be honest, I'm really unsure. haha. I sound like a child, but its so true.
I didn't really do anything when messing around with black and white, i just switched it over on my camera while taking the photos. |

I am a still life big time fan, and B&W is my most favorite style next to selective color, I dont mind shooting nature when I see it possible. I love your photo and there is no reason not to shoot a style, in the end photography is an art and art is expression. It is spontaneous and usually pops up as a light bulb that just got lit, just like how cartoons displayed it.
Keep your horizons wide and your eyes and mind open to everything you can contain and absorb. There is no such thing as "is it worth it?" when it comes to expressing an idea or a feeling through a form of art. Some of the greatest artists died broke and did not get peoples acceptance until they died. So that is NOT a criteria to be relied on to judge quality and after all a true artist usually have more than one talent and perspective ![]() Ask if you did it right, not if the idea is right. Now the photo: I wish it had some more brightness in it. Try adding a Brightness/Contrast layer and add a bit of brightness (Maybe 5-10) and contrast (Maybe 15-30) and see how it works out. Good luck in whatever you choose to do -Kalo |
